Exploration-5

The fashion styles played a significant role in the evolution of fashion trends of today. I took inspiration from the silhouettes of that period.

Exploration-4

The social and political reasons which led to the development of Baroque played an important role in my material exploration. I used wired and beads which also had a historic significance. I designed curtains using the same pattern and concept..

Exploration-3

Baroque period was dominated by patterns and motifs inspired by nature..First they were incorporated in the architecture of monuments and palaces. Gradually the same were used in designing clothes.

Exploration-2

The world of fashion has always intrigued me. For as long as I can remember I have been following the biggest fashion houses. My top favourites include Dolce And Gabbana. When the designers designed a whole collection which falls under Baroque , I thought who to get inspired by but the masters themselves...

Exploration-1

The essence of my topic is ' Elaborate '. In order to make it extra detailed and appealing , I explored a wide variety of materials ranging from cellophane paper to beads to pearls etcetera . I tried to create an item of utility from this . I couldn't help but think of chandelier when I saw the final outcome of the exploration.
One down four to go !!

Enroute..

The final and the most tedious task was the swatches. It took a while to get inspiration from the aspects of baroque , then try different permutation and combinations using the same medium and finally deriving the outcome.. Sketches and doodles were used to reach the final stage...
Overall it was pretty challenging and extremely interesting !

Material Board

Intensive variety of substance or substances out of which a thing is or can be made.

Inspiration Board..

"It always seems impossible until its done"
( Now we have something ready to refer to.. )
An inspiration board is more specific and visual. A collection of  visual references that are the starting point for elements that will eventually show up in the designed product.

One can get inspire from anywhere and anything.
Just like people got inspired from patterns and a new art movement came "BAROQUE".

What inspired me the most to take this topic was the light hearted theme, the patterns, its playfulness ,uniqueness , and the way it went with the stiffness and boldness of baroque.

Colour Board

" Colours speak all languages "

A colour board consists of one or many colours which are going to be used in final product . It may consist one or more images.

The board contains colours that dominated the Baroque period ranging from shades of blue , yellow, green and the main colours being golden , green and red.

Mood Board

Evoking out one's feelings is the best way to convey the message.. ( what better than a mood board? )

A mood board is typically a collage of images, fonts, colours, textures and samples of objects that define the style of the project. It serves as a visual tool to quickly inform others of the overall feel or flow of an idea or the proposed product.
Mood boards can be a great way to convey your design idea and it took me hours to collect various pictures from books, websites to sum up my feelings about Baroque...

NAILED IT !!

Baroque was a period of artistic style that used exaggerated motion and clear , easily interpreted detail to produce drama , tension , exuberance and grandeur in structure , painting , architecture , fashion , theatre and music...

Trying to process it...

If you steal from one author it's plagiarism; if you steal from many it's research...

Finding my way through...

If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?
Trying to see what everyone has seen , but think what no one has thought...

beginning of a journey..

" It is very simple and and reveals idealism and truth " said Caravaggio about baroque. After the mayhem within about several topics, I took up Baroque with a todo fresco spirit.. Swayed my way to the library and tried to play it cool in the middle of a zillion books. Not at all intimidating..
Hola from the other side !!
